2011 USAT Athletes of the Year - In the very near future the USAT AOY Selection Committee will review the competitive resumes of just over 100 multisporters and determine which should receive post season honors. Minnesotans have always figured prominently in these deliberations and several have won national titles, or earned Honorable Mentions. Check this out:
- 2010 - Patrick Parish - AOY HM; Jenny Wilcox - Duathlete of the Year HM; Greg Taylor - Master of the Year HM.
- 2009 - Cathy Yndestad - Athlete of the Year; Kevin O'Connor - Duathlete of the Year
- 2008 - Brian Bich - Master of the Year; Cathy Yndestad - AOY HM.
- 2007 - Cathy Yndestad - AOY HM; Brian Bich - MOY HM...

What do 5K runs and sheep herding have in common? We don't know, but if we think of something, we'll let you know.
And what do 5K runs and sheep herding have in common with triathlon?
Well, occasional road racing can be a vital component of off season training. As for the sheep herding thing, we can't think of anything that it has in common with triathlon. ONce again, if we think of something, though, we'll let you know....

Team Minnesota - Women - Six Committee members ranked their choices for Minnesota's Top 15 most successful male and female multisporters in 2011. In the end, NONE of those voters' selections matched the ultimate Top 10 rankings. We think that's cool. Democracy in action....
