Ironman Wisconsin Race Report - I spent the majority of 2012 training and racing short course tris and dus and realizing how much I love short all out red line racing. Several people have suggested that I step away from triathlon and explore the steps to try to get into pro cycling and I was dreaming about duathlon nationals and have been curious where triathlon age group nationals would relocate, many short course only plans for 2013 formed in my head throughout the entire season....

Minnesota Multisport Awards - Will there be any surprises when the nominees for Triathlete of the Year are announced on MTN on Tuesday? Sure, there are some slam dunk choices, perhaps five of the eight eventual nominees can be agreed upon by most.
In this post, we'll ignore most of the obvious stuff and discuss some names that have never been nominated for this award in the past; or have been, albeit several years ago.
One of the issues the selection committee faces this year is the fact that many of our state's top athletes have only raced 3-4 times this year. How are they to be ranked on Team Minnesota, if at all, and should...

Minnesota Multisport Awards - We blew it last year.
Which time, you ask?
When we decided to include Ruth Brennan Morrey's runaway victory at the 2011 ITU Long Distance World Championships among the 2012 nominees for Female Performance of the Year.
LD Worlds were only a week before the MMA Party and we had already ordered and received the trophies, including, of course, Dan Arlandson's LD AOY and Claire Bootsma's POY trophies....

2012 Minnesota Multisport Awards - The list of potential female Master of the Year nominees is even longer than the men's roster, which was posted yesterday. A brief glance at this year's bios and results suggests that at least 20 fast women deserve serious consideration, including former MOY winners Jan Guenther and Heidi Keller-Miler. It is the world class standards set by this seriously fast duo that these candidates will be compared to....
