Minnesota Multisport Awards - Will there be any surprises when the nominees for Triathlete of the Year are announced on MTN on Tuesday? Sure, there are some slam dunk choices, perhaps five of the eight eventual nominees can be agreed upon by most.

In this post, we'll ignore most of the obvious stuff and discuss some names that have never been nominated for this award in the past; or have been, albeit several years ago.

One of the issues the selection committee faces this year is the fact that many of our state's top athletes have only raced 3-4 times this year. How are they to be ranked on Team Minnesota, if at all, and should...

a person with only three races be given serious TOY consideration? How do we deal with, say, the brilliant Michelle Andres, for instance? Sure, she will probably receive a Performance of the Year nomination for her wonderful CR at IMOO, but can she, with two wins and a 2nd be considered for TOY? Is that fair to the elite women who raced 8-10-12 or more times this season? Tough question.
