New Bri Tri Stuff - After an exciting womano a womano battle in which Hilary Patzer stalked and ultimately overtook Lydia Novotny, the acupuncturist/herbalist/elite Nordic skier-turned-triathlete emerged victorious this morning at the 6th annual New Bri Tri. Twas Patzer's second consecutive multi win of 2011, and her first tri triumph.
Jill Ellenbecker grabbed the final women's podium spot.

Press Release - The South Metro Storm is one of three local organizations working together to make this vision--the state-of-the-art Lakeville Aquatic Center--a reality. To that end, we are pleased to announce a Swim Marathon to raise funds to offset the costs required to advance this ambitious project. This fun, high-energy marathon will be held on June 25/26 with the goal of raising $50,000 for the Aquatic Center development costs. New Bri Tri Preview - We don't expect records to fall at the 6th annual New Bri Tri on Saturday, but we do predict that it will be a super event, weather permitting.
Why?
Because it was a super event last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. Also, a glance at the start list suggests that the race will reach its 500-participant ceiling and a significant percent of the field are recidivists. Folks don't return to an event year after year if it sucks....

Buffalo Triathlon Preview - This great event, which will celebrate its 8th anniversary on Sunday, has the distinction of being the largest (1500 participants) race in the Tri Minnesota Series.
It is also the most competitive race in the series. And this year's Buffalo Olympic Tri field, despite the absence of the 2010 and 2009 women's champs (Cathy Yndestad and Kortney Haag), both of whom are injured, and the fact that it shares its date with Pigman Sprint, where last year's Tri Buff men's winner (Patrick Parish) will be racing, will be as stout as ever....
