A group ride can benefit your training and make you faster.
Though triathlon is generally a non-drafting sport, ironically some of the most fun and beneficial training we can do on the bike involves riding in a draft-friendly group. Organized group rides can be found in nearly all active communities, and may be geared toward bike racers, recreational cyclists or triathletes. After Ironman Canada I’m going south to race Ironman Chattanooga. Why Chattanooga? The late September date is nice, not too late in the year and a few weeks later than Ironman Wisconsin. Quintana Roo is based there so I can stop by and say hi to those guys.
The course looks good for me since it is moderately hilly but not overly technical. Most importantly my professional Ironman Intern, Steven Brandes, is willing to road trip down there with me. Triathlete.com: Tell us about your athletic background. Did you swim or run as a kid?
Brennan Morrey: Nope, I never swam and maybe ran one track race in high school. But I’ve been playing soccer for as far back as I can remember. If I wasn’t out on the field...

By now, they’ve had time to think about goals for the coming year and races to register for and have a renewed enthusiasm for the sport. But, it’s also important to know when to pull the reigns in and ease back into things. While many of us know what we should be doing, our overzealous nature can...

Producers of more indoor triathlons than any other institution in the US, Life Time Fitness has staged three of the thirteen such events that will take place in Minnesota LTF clubs this year. Their Plymouth club's race was on February 23. Their Fridley and Lakeville clubs conducted indoor swim-trainer-treadmill events on March 2.
Here's some stuff about those cool events...
