Kansas 70.3 Race Report - It was the end of December and my brothers & I were all hanging around the La Casa de Sanders for the New's Years Eve/Kansas 70.3 signing party. We had been talking about signing up for a 70.3 for a few months and it has always been a goal of mine to complete one. So after my brothers completed the Boulder 70.3 last yr. I knew I had to do it.
At about 10pm, just 2 hours before the price increase....we all signed up for the Kansas 70.3. We toasted with a shot of POM juice and the race prep, strategy and smack talk began. Would Erik beat his big bro Nate this year? He came in 2nd to Nate at the Boulder 70.3? The training commenced &..

Race Report - Falling asleep this last Friday night was tough. As I lay in bed I was just too excited for Lifetime the next morning. I've been looking forward to this race since last July when I was 6th. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of really great races in Minnesota with beautiful courses, and friendly volunteers and Kevin O'Connor's hot dogs afterwards. But Lifetime is one of the big shows in the US, and there's nothing quite like a big race. I picked two races this year to be

Race Coverage- Some days just aren't very fast. Saturday was one of those days.
In general, the times at the 10th anniversary edition of Life Time Minneapolis were slower than in past years. And it wasn't for lack of field quality or due to extremely unaccommodating weather. Sure, there was some light chop and noticeable surface current on Lake Nokomis. There was also humidity and some wind to contend with, though not nearly as troublesome as this event has had to contend with on several occasions in the past. Race Coverage - Jennifer Neuman hoped to go 1:09 at Minneman VII last Saturday. A 1:09:59 would have been just as satisfying as a 1:09-flat.
When Jennifer crossed the final timing mat in 1:10:08, she did what she always does when she finishes a race. She smiled.
Jen has a beautiful smile.
Achieving a time goal was not the only standard of victory for the pretty 40-year-old from Ramsey. For her, victory was already built into the equation. She trains and she races with joy and enthusiasm, and understands that doing so is a victorious way to live....
