Back in the Saddle...

CYED. - We were able to cyber-chat with Minnesota Athlete of the Decade, Cathy Yndestad, a few days ago. After an arduous recovery phase (broken collar bone), she's finally able to race again. She couldn't be happier, and neither can we. We can't wait to see her race at Life Time-Minneapolis on Saturday. It will be her 10th straight appearance there. She's won that iconic race an unprecedented FIVE times. Whoa!

Here are our clumsy Q's followed by her eloquent A's. Enjoy.

MTN - It was great to see you get back on the horse at Croixathlon. The swim must have been the scary part. How'd that go?

Despite volunteering at a few events this year, it just wasn

A Lot to Get Excited About...

Event Preview - Cathy Yndestad shouldn't win the Life Time Fitness - Minneapolis for the 6th time on Saturday. No way. Surely she needs more healing time and a few more racing experiences to knock off some rust, right?

We're not sure.

Cathy's muscles, especially that big pumpy one in the middle of her chest, are full of LTF memories, nine years worth. Memories of...

10th Anniversary Edition...

potts/reedED. Nick Morales of Trijuice.com, which publishes "freshy squeezed" national and international triathlon news (love the freshly squeezed branding!), and the MTN Guys (Yes, Trudles is one of the Guys!) are good buds and avidly support each others' websites. Below is Nick's preview of the 10th anniversary Life Time Fitness - Minneapolis Triathlon, which will be staged on Saturday at Lake Nokomis. Newsworthy Notesy Stuff...

chisagologo* CHISAGO MIGHT CAP - The 9th annual Chisago Lakes Half and Sprint, which will be contested on July 24, is doomed to enjoy record attendance. Podium Sweepage...

logoRace Preview - Life Time Fitness - Minneapolis has always been highlighted by a world class pro field AND a National Championship-level amateur competition. It is truly one of America's premier swim-bike-runs.

Not since 2003 have Minnesota men swept the Elite Amateur podium at LTF-Mpls. That year, twins Chuck and Phil Smith went one-two, and Michael Stoick landed on the final step. We still remember those guys. Do you?

With every fiber of our being, we believe that a triumvirate of our state's best tri-studs will hog the podium on Saturday, when the event celebrates it's 10th anniversary. And we expect #10 to be nothing short of epic. Yes, we think Adam Webber's course record--the Pennsylvanian turned in a 1:57:07 in 2008--will go down. Maybe go down hard!...
