It’s hard to put into words just how much Madison and IRONMAN Wisconsin mean to me. If it tells you anything, I teared up both just talking about the mass swim start and when getting ready to bike the course on Saturday. It will forever hold a special place in my heart ♥ (And, I’d be lying if I didn’t already think about trying to add the race to this year’s calendar… because two IMs in less than a month would be a great idea, right?!) ....

LAKES COUNTRY TRIATHLON - WADE CRUSER will be going for his 5th victory of the season at LCT this Sunday and we predict he will not only win, but demolish the CR. His 2nd place (by 2 seconds!) effort here in 2015 marked his emergence as a star in our region, and he has been even impressiver ever since.
How fast will he go? Our guess is that he will pop a time in the 58-flat area.
And he'll be pushed by another guy who is enjoying a breakout season in 2016: CASEY MILLER. Thus far this season, Casey's scorecard features three wins and three seconds....

SUPERIORMAN PREVIEW - KORTNEY HAAG has seven half IM wins on her resume, including here in 2015 when she set the women's course record (4:43:08). Once again, she will enter the race as the favorite.
On paper, Haag's stiffest challenge will come from a woman who hasn't raced the 70.3 distance since her only attempt at the in 2010. Her name is CHRISTINA ROBERTS, and her time at Liberty was 5:16:42. She placed 7th.
Kortney knows that the 2016 version of Christina Roberts is much faster than the 2010 version. Roberts was ranked 2nd on Team...

LIFE TIME TRI - MAPLE GROVE PREVIEW - Can you believe that this race is seven years old already?
Time flies when you're having fun.
When we glanced at the current entrant list we were most impressed with the depth of the women's field in the sprint race, so, we are going to concentrate on that here....

There are several great races this weekend, including the women's Olympic Triathlon, where St. Paul addressee GWEN JORGENSEN is favored to WIN! How cool is that!
FYI, we think she will, too.
The Lake Marion Triathlons in Lakeville are tomorrow and we believe Northfield pro DANIEL BRETSCHER will take down RYAN BAILEY's CR in the Olympic-distance race.
We also think that 2015 women's OD winner OLIVIA BAGNALL will repeat as champion, and that ANN SNUGGERUD (photo) will best the masters record she set in 2011.
As for the Lake Marion Sprint, we think that 2012 winner / course record-holder JOYCE BOURASSA will prevail. If she does so, the 48-year-old Lakeville resident will have posted three consecutive wins this season, which could...

Gwen Jorgensen knew it. She just didn't want to believe it.
So she shouted to a rider with a better view.
“Do I have a flat?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure? You need to be sure!” she urged.
“Yes! You have a flat.”
So, roughly 40 minutes into her Olympic debut, she stopped, ejected her rear wheel, and swapped it for another while a half-dozen people passed her. She would later discover that a tiny piece of glass had split her tire....
