4th Annual BUZZ RYAN SPRINT - This super-cool event takes place next Sunday at Island Lake north of Duluth at a picnic park that appears to have been designed with triathlon in mind. The race is a great prelude to Brewhouse, which had moved to the same venue three years ago, but its primary goal is to lure newbies and introduce them to the multisport lifestyle. Here's BRS' Mission Statement: ...
The Buzz Ryan was designed and launched to cater to the first time and recreational triathlete!
There are a lot of races to choose from in the state of Triathlon, and let’s face it, they can be intimidating! Our 500 yard swim, 10 mile bike and 2.5 mile run tri is short and sweet.
We had newbies in mind when we approached MN Power and inquired about the greatest triathlon venue in the Upper Midwest!
A beautiful sandy beach, paved transition and bike areas, and a flat, scenic run course. Let’s not forget about the finish chute strategically placed at the Island Lake Inn!
The MTN Guys recommend this event highly and can't say enough about its spectacular venue. RACE WEBSITE
- DAVID THOMPSON (photo) plans to pull a double this weekend. On Saturday, he'll race at The Outland Challenge in western South Dakota, that state's oldest, and arguably best, multisport event. On Sunday he'll return to Heart of the Lakes. If he wins both races, which we believe he will happen, his career win total would climb to 98!
- HEATHER LENDWAY will race next weekend at the New York City Triathlon, which is produced by Life Time Events.
