Two more of our state's top multisporters have responded to MTN's request concerning their 2014 race schedules. Patrick Parish (photo above) did not reveal his tri/du calendar, but he told us what he has been up to lately, which made us totally envious: ...

Hi MTN Guys,

It's been an exciting winter thus far.

It started in Bend, Oregon with the Annual Convention of Skinny Punks, better known as cross country club nationals. I traveled with the Run N Fun crew, which is always a blast. Minnesota was well-represented both on the course and on the dance floor - by whom, I can't say. That part of the country is spectacular!

Next up was Christmas in Vermont. Mountain running, nordic skiing, and quality time with a family that's rarely under one roof - no complaints!

I flew back to Minneapolis for one night, which fortunately coincided with the end-of-the-year boot hockey game - hurts so good!

Then I was off to New Zealand for an impromptu adventure with a German friend I recently met at Grand Performance bike shop. There's nothing like starting the new year with the longest ride of your life. It was epic!

I'm not entirely sure what's next. That's a tough act to follow, but I have a few ideas and I'm back in Minnesota getting ready to try them out.

Sorry this took a few days, I've been debating a lot of this years schedule. I've been trying to come back from an injury since Nationals, so I haven't thought much about anything else other than returning to 'normal'. Here is a rough version of what I'm thinking now:

Race Schedule:

Running race late March/early April

April 26^th, 2014: Falls Duathlon (tentative)

May 8^th, 2014: TC 1 mile

May 10^th, 2014: Oakdale Duathlon

May 24^th, 2014: Apple Duathlon

June 7^th, 2014: Trinona Time Trial

July 19^th, 2014: Duathlon National Championships

August 24^th, 2014: Minneapolis Duathlon (tentative)

September 13^th, 2014: Park Tool Duathlon

September 20^th, 2014: Treadman Duathlon

October 5^th, 2014: TC 10 mile (hopefully)

Things may change as they usually do, but my focus this year will be on the Duathlon National Championships and a running race in the fall. I know this isn't much, I can't believe it's February!

Hope all is well with you! Oh, and your little tidbit on MNTriNews about the USAT honorees is now KILLING me. I hope they announce soon!
