G-Man Predictions...

ENDURANCEGraniteman-Big Lake - According to Yahoo Weather, that unassailable source of deadly accurate forecasting, conditions at Big Lake on Saturday should be totally groovy. Morning lows in the mid-50s, climbing to 70ish by lunchtime. Best of all, the sun should be visible, the winds negligible and the chance of rain, zilch.

Yeah. Let's see how all that works out. And if the sun actually shines, maybe some of us won't need to take our Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors. We can only hope.

Graniteman-Big Lake will celebrate its 3rd anniversary as the final, and arguably coolest, race in the G-Man Tri Series. A glance at the current reg. list tells us that a record crowd, perhaps 500 participants, should be on hand.

Let's do some predictions....

- Jamie Heying, who has a win and a 2nd in G-man racing this year, will win the race and the women's Series Title.dog

- Greta Danielson will podium, strengthening her hold on the Junior of the Year frontrunner's status. She won that award in 2012.

- Greta's younger, but taller, sister Paige will also rock a Top 10 finish, as will 2012 Big Lake recidivists Jennifer Fitzharris-Funk, Sarah Foley and Lisa Wacek. FYI, Jennifer has a cool dog (photo).

- Jody Mullet joined Jamie and Greta on the podium at Clearwater. We think she'll do so again at BL.

- Larry Hosch will continue to rock. Another Top 5 effort this year should seal his Rookie of the Year nomination. It might also earn him the G-Man Series title.

- Doug Barkema, Jeff Grebner and Tyler Hecht should grapple over the men's podium spots. Jeff might be a bit tired, though, having just raced admirably at Chisago 71 last Sunday.

- Mike Flynn will better his own 60-64M course record.
