Who is the most avuncular race director in Minnesota?
It's Randy Fulton, of course. In fact, we call him Uncle Randy. He calls us something, too.
In a recent email, Randy told us that registration for the Oakdale Duathlon on May 11 is rockin'. Approximately 400 run-bike-runners have already signed up. A dozen of those folks are entered in the "Elite" category, including 2012 champ / women's CR-holder Suzie Fox, and at least a dozen others who have elite creds but are enrolled in the AGs. This year's race will not only be larger than in year's past, it should be even more competitive,too....
Here's the thing. Don't miss your chance to get into this great event, which is staged at one of our region's absolute primo duathlon locales, Lake Elmo Park Reserve. Get signed up in the next few weeks, okay? This race should be full by the Ides of March. LINK
ALSO - Lots of our state's top multisporters are also talented nordic skiers. Here's a link to Saturday's BIRKIE results, featuring a plethora of triathletic skinny skiers. LINK We were especially blown away by the number of tri/du ladies finishing high in the KORTELOPET results.
ALSO ALSO - MTN congratulates Wisconsin Olympian now living in St. Paul, Gwen Jorgenson, who placed 2nd last weekend at the Devonport (NZL) Oceania Sprint Championships.
