Race Preview - On Sunday the 23rd Manitou Sprint Triathlon will kick off the second season of the OptumHealth Performance Series. Manitou is also the fourth of nine races comprising the 2012 Midwest Multisport Series. It is expected to draw 400+ participants to its wonderful venue on the scenic north shore of White Bear Lake.

Every race has many races within itself. For example, on Sunday we are anxious to see how the junior girls fare. This race within the race features 2011 Junior of the Year Hannah Strom, plus fellow 2011 nominees Greta and Paige Danielson, 2010 JOY Kate Lowrey and last week's 19U winner at Buffalo Olympic, Mata Agre. winner of this battle may well be the one who takes home the MN JOY trophy at season's end. Who do we think will win? Whomever it is, we believe that she'll need to crack the women's overall Top 10.
