* Hopkins' Robert Brown picked up his 3rd GREEN LAKE SPRINT victory today, and was joined in the Winners Circle by Blue Earth's Suzie Olsen, whose 1:06:40 took the women's CR down by 2:31. Jen Neuman (1:07:58) also dipped under the previous standard. Finishing 2nd in the men's race was a very cool guy from Ramsey named Scotty Erickson, who has a sweet soul patch and looks a lot like Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder (photo R). The final podiums spots were earned by Ted Macnamara and two-time GL-Sprint runner-up Jennifer Mobley. GL-SPRINT RESULTS ED. The reason the Wingman logo above is soooooo small is so you won't notice that it was from 2009.

* Marcus Stromberg and Jess Rossing picked up their first career victories this morning at the 5th annual GREEN LAKE OLYMPIC TRIATHLON in Spicer. And they absolutely toasted the course records in the process. It was just a matter of time before Stromberg, who was 2nd at Graniteman-Clear Lake, and Rossing, who was 2nd last weekend at Brewhouse, broke into the winners column. * To no one's surprise, Dan Arlandson and Kristina Carson repeated as champions at WINGMAN III in Red Wing earlier today. Despite a longer run course, Arlandson's 2011 time was faster than his 2010 clocking. W-MAN RESULTS
