Lots & Lots of Great Stuff....

NEWSY NOTSEY STUFF...

* Minnesota will send a super-amazing-awesome-expialidocious Team to the 2011 Best of the US National Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama, on September 10. (Trudy almost peed her pants when she got the news!) Yes, we see podium finishes for several of these athletes, who also appear to be slam-dunks for Team awards. Minnesota's qualifier, as always, was the Lake Waconia Triathlon, and the following folks received BOUS invitations:...

MEN: Dan Hedgecock, Patrick Parish and Matt Payne, all of whom have tentatively accepted their slots. logo

WOMEN: Becky Youngberg, Michelle Andres and Heidi Keller-Miler. To BOUS' management's giddy delight, Michelle has tentatively accepted her berth and Heidi is giving the opportunity serious consideration. (Trudy will not allow HKM to decline! She simply won't hear of it!) Early indications suggest that Becky will decline. Gosh, we sincerely hope she changes her mind, but if she doesn't, Suzie Finger (5th at Waconia) will receive an invitation. Julia Weisbecker, who was 4th at Waconia and in line for the first passdown slot, will be racing at Ironman Wisconsin and will not be able to accept a slot, if offered. However, Julia, who represented Minnesota at BOUS 2010 and had an awesome performance (11th!) and, with Matt Payne, earned a Team award, sent the following Mafioso-style comments, via email, to BOUS organizers after Sunday's qualifier:

"...if you need me to put the "lean" on any of the top 3 girls from today to go to BOUS you just let me know. I sure hope they decide to take the chance to go and have a super race with ....Trudy at the helm. Surely a highlight in my short racing career!"

Check out the next-in-line girls, should passing down become necessary: Jenny Wilcox and Julie Hull. Oops! Trudy just wet herself.
