2024 Taupo, NZ 70.3 World Championships Race Report - This venue was world class! Honestly, didn’t have any crazy expectations going into this race other than to have fun and leave it all out on the course. I can say I play my hand about as well as I could have today.
Swim was a breakthrough for me going under 30 minutes for the first time. It was the clearest water I’ve ever swam in seeing the bottom the entire swim.
Bike course started with 12 miles of straight climbing. You saw a lot of people go out and cook themselves early. Power was low all-day, but road consistent throughout 256AP - 263NP
Run course was extremely tougher than it looked on paper and the 9AM start for the age group didn’t do any favors for us starting the run right around noon. Definitely the discipline that I want to work on the most… have yet to piece it together!
If you asked me if I would have been here 18 months ago I would have laughed in your face....
Already hungry for next season after this race, but excited for a few down weeks before we start chopping wood again.
Grateful to wear the EMJ kit and share the course with this team! Most fun I’ve had at a race with so many friends out on the course. It does absolutely take a village to do these types of things so thank you for playing a part in my journey to get here. Shoutout to my coach for getting me here and the year we’ve had!
Most asked question was did you enjoy the views on course… haha after the race I did.
ED. Tevin rocked a 4:17:34!
