Pigman Sprint Race Report - What a weekend!!
First off, we want to thank everyone who made this a fun and safe race atmosphere! We had a few mishaps along the way (bike falling off car, glasses dropping in porta potty, missing chain link, etc) but all 3 gophers crossed the finish line!
We started the morning in transition for our race briefing. After the announcements, we were walked in a single file line down to the beach for the swim start...kinda felt like we were back in kindergarten....
The lake was HOT which made for a slower swim. The bike was super nice on the way out and then we hit a pretty bad headwind and we all realized why we were flying at the beginning :)
Finally, we ran through a campground with lots of campers cheering along the way.
Quinn Kneeland was the first collegiate male finisher and Sophie Rabino got second for collegiate females. Huge shout-out to Morgan Kerfeld for finishing her first collegiate race with us!!
It was great to see so many MWCTC athletes -- hopefully we'll be able to race with everyone again soon. Overall it was a fun weekend and we were happy to be able to race safely with the majority of our other events cancelling.
Ski U Mah, Go Gophers!
WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
