PIGMAN SPRINT - In an earlier post we mentioned that Minnesotans have historically dominated at Pigman Sprint. The legacy lives on. Here's how our state's triathletes fared last Sunday in Palo, Iowa:
Overall Top 10 - Six of these spots were earned by Minnesotans.
2nd - David Thompson - 1:01:55. (He finished just 25-seconds behind winner Daniel Bretscher, despite having flatted with four miles to go in the bike segment.)
3. Dan Hedgecock - 1:02:28
7. Kevin O'Connor - 1:04:34 - 2nd amateur/ 1st Master
8. Devon Palmer - 1:06:28
9. Heather Lendway - 1:06:53 - Lowered Claire Bootsma's 2012 course record by 1:46....
10. John Shelp - 1:07:27
Two women from the Gear West Team competed. Heather Lendway won, and Claire Bootsma placed 7th.
PP in Pontevedra - Pontevedra is a province in northwestern Spain. It's capitol is also named Pontevedra. That is where Patrick Parish was last weekend for the ITU Duathlon World Championships. He was the only American in the pro field and placed 17th overall. RESULTS
- BUFFALO STUFF - Diane Hankee and Suzy Fox were late registrants for last weekend's Buffalo Olympic Triathlon. Both were expected to challenge eventual winner Elaine Nelson for the win. Suzy ultimately finished 2nd. Diane placed 16th. In her own charming Canadian-accented words, here's what happened:
- Hey MTN Guys,
Any chance you could do a roll call for MN athletes going up to race IM Whistler? Would be good to know everyone to look out for!
Thanks!
Devon Palmer
