Couch caveThe MSU Spring Tri was contested on September 1. Twenty-nine athletes started the event and 25 finished. What we find to be most cool about the results is that we don’t know ANYONE on the list, except runner-up Matt Busch, who we don’t know personally but are aware of because he won the very first tri he did, which was the MSU Spring Tri, we think. We also know that Matt is a good guy because Chris Crocker, who we trust implicitly, told us that he is. Matt turned in the day’s fastest bike and run splits.

In an effort to find out stuff about some of the finishers we consulted Facebook.

The men’s winner was Carlos Gorina. He’s into Nerf Tournaments, rides a yellow bike and knows Devon Palmer.

The women’s winner was Beth Kesky. She graduated from Dassel-Cokato High, is totally into Garth Brooks and Skillet and might live in a cave (photo).

The fastest swim was turned in by Jerod Simek, who is an assistant swim coach at MSU. He swam at Truman State and did real good, winning several titles. Do you know where Truman State is? Neither did we until we looked it up. It’s in Kirksville, Missouri and its campus is really pretty. Lots of brick and mature trees.
