WASECA 1/3 & SPRINT IV - Diane Hankee was totally awesome on this dank, cool morning in friendly Waseca. So were the brothers Cooley, Sean and Jake. And John Heinlein III. And Enoch Elliot (photo L). And Beth Guck. And Tammy O'Connor. And a guy who promised himself years ago that if he ever won his division in a triathlon, he'd quit the sport and learn how to speak "Ta'izzi-Adeni," the Arabic dialect spoken by most of the people in Yemen, and at least six guys in the United Arab Emirates. His name is Rick Gauger; he lives in Waseca; and we may have embellished the part about his desire to speak Yemeni Arabic. Rick is rethinking his promise and may, henceforth, dispense with promising altogether. There's no way he is going to give up triathlon.
