Race Coverage - Guys! NEVER try the "flying mount," okay?
Sure, David Thompson (GREAT photo L) can do 'em, but he's a professional and has spent many mandatory weeks taking special classes, during which he had to wear an industrial-strength jockstrap. These classes were always supervised by highly-skilled doctors with specialized degrees in Sports Groinocology.
Besides, guys, your jewels, which you need if you want to continue to be dudes, are already compromised by years of bike pants constriction. Don't add unnecessary injury to your current state of inguinal insult....
Bike mounting was not the only flying that DKT did last Saturday at the inaugural Minneman Olympic Triathlon at Lake George in Oak Grove. Nice segue, huh? The new daddy flew through the swim (17:35), then absolutely jetted the 42+K bike course (58:55 - 27 mph). He followed all this by soaring over the 10Kish run course in 31:41. The result was a brilliant 1:50:22, the 77th win of his illustrious career.
Did we mention that it was hot and sticky, which didn't agree with some finishers, one of whom has a name that rhymes with "Mapril Norgan," who totally spewed as soon as she crossed the finish line? Mapril, incidentally, podiumed (3rd!)
