Race Report - Over the past 4 years I have participated in the Land Between the Lakes Triathlon in Albert Lea. My sister-in-law, Lisa grew up in Albert Lea and her parents still reside there so it is a fun way for family and friends to get together for the weekend. At first, I wasn't too sure about racing so early given the cold water temps, but over the years I have found it beneficial for me to get an early jump-start to the season.
A cold front came through Saturday night and we woke up to breezy, cooler air with the smell of rain. I was happy about the cooler air but not about...
the wind and chance of rain. Since this is a small race as far as participants, it was nice to have room in the transition area. I like to do a slow gradual warm-up of running and biking, I warmed up nicely and felt the air temperature was perfect for racing. I saw many friendly familiar faces and was ready for a great race.
