* CANINA BOUTIQUA - Woodbury triathlete Angie Schmidt has a new puppy. Her name is Ruby, she's eight weeks old and unbearably cute. She is a RAGOM. We don't know what that means. Could be one of those boutique breeds, like a Bernardapoo, or a Boxerdoodle. Let's assume that the "RA" stands for Rat Terrier. The "GO" refers to a Gordon Setter, and the "M" is for Mastiff.
* MACHISMO STUFF - Bloomington triathlete Tiffany Storms really likes Randy "The Natural" Couture. Ever heard of him? Neither had we, so we Googled him. He's a martial artists guy who was in the movie, "The Expendables," which is about a band of former elite mercenaries who are now in their 70s. In the film they...
shoot guns, explode bombs and beat people up between naps.
* UNDERPANTS RUNNERS - Triathletes look really good in their underwear, which is why an "Underpants Run" has been a part of the Hawaiian Ironman festivities for a long time. Either that or UPR founder Paul Huddle, a great guy who often forgets to take his meds, was looking for an alternative to more surreptitious exhibitionist methods, like flashing or "forgetting" to zip up his fly.
A couple of hot Minnesotans participated in this year's UPR. When visiting Angie Schmidt's Facebook page, we not only discovered that she likes boutique dogs, but she also looks great in her underpants, as does her good friend Julie Hull.
Ang, beautiful in blue, and Jules, looking molten in the leopard motif, shopped at Victoria's Secret before the race.
* MEGA-CRUSH - Most Improved nominee Sean Cooley, who is a super nice guy, has a mega-crush on Aussie tri star Emma Moffatt (photo below), who has a totally awesome smile. He mentioned his fixation to Chris McCormack, who said, and we're not making this up, that he'd "put in a good word to Moffy."
Moffy! Australians are into cool nicknames.
* KEEPING PACE - Belle Plaine triathlete Heather Kick-Abrahamson is a huge fan of Miranda Lambert's band Pistol Annies. Who isn't?
Heather was a pacer at Saturday's Mankato Half Marathon, which we think is totally cool. She paced the 2:10 group.
Her actual finish was 2:09:09.
* YOUR FAVE - Don't forget to vote for the girl you think should win the 2011 Junior of the Year award in the POLL section beneath the Race Ads on the lower right side of this site's homepage.
