* Honorary Minnesotan, Jon Balabuck of Thunder Bay, Ontario, was the fourth amateur to cross the finish line at Eagleman 70.3, which historically draws the deepest amateur fields on the US 70.3 circuit, in Cambridge, Maryland, on Saturday. Balabuck, who set an amateur course record at Buffalo Olympic the previous weekend, posted a 4:09:56 in wet and windy conditions. RESULTS * North Hudson, Wisconsin's David Holden (photo R), a Minnesota Master of the Year nominee in 2010, became a three-time Fairmont Olympic champion on Saturday. He was joined in the Winners Circle by Blue Earth's comely Suzie Olsen, who is also a multiple winner at FOT. The Fairmont Sprint race was won by Rick Hoover and Stephanie Peterson. RESULTS * Saturday's Loon Lake Triathlon was won rather convincingly by Mankato's Dan Friedrichs, who is a totally nice guy. This year's women's champ was Cheryl Johnson, also a Mankatoian, who is probably very nice, too. Cheryl was 8th at Albert Lea last month. RESULTS * There are a few slots open for next Sunday's RochesterFest Triathlon. Act quickly, this great race should fill by Wednesday. RACE WEBSITE * We found this cool photo of Liberty Olympic champ, Christina Roberts, on Kerry Yndestad's Facebook page. We're posting it here because we really like it.
