Minnesota Multisport Awards - In alpha order, the five finalists for Triathletes Choice 2010 Race of the Year are: CROIXATHLON, MAPLE GROVE DARE TO TRI, MOSQUITOMAN DUATHLON, TRINONA and the YWCA WOMEN'S TRIATHLON....

Based on voter comments, these races had especially special specialness. In generalized terms, here's why:

* Croixathlon - A fun, funky, happy, smiley event with spray-painted horse poop. Amy and Gretch are total hoots!

* Maple Grove Dare to Tri - Ambitious. Perhaps the best new event of the last decade.

* Mosquito Man Duathlon - Not just affordable, it's actually CHEAP! Love for the fresh new format. Promotes the total coolness of team racing.

* Trinona - Fantastic course and going-the-extra-mile event management. Barbecue sandwiches as big as your head!

* YWCA Women's Tri - Participants treated like Royalty. A celebration of gender empowerment and cool stuff like that.
