2017 MINNESOTA MULTISPORT AWARDS – Today we are looking at possible female MASTER OF THE YEAR nominees. As with the men, there are a plethora of possibilities. The committee has narrowed the field to the following 11 athletes, four of whom will receive official nominations next week.

JENNIFER FITZHARRIS-FUNK, 42, Minneapolis (photo)
- - JFF reached the overall women's podium twice in 2017

DIANE HANKEE, 40, Lino Lakes
- - Scorecard is highlighted by two outright wins and at least three masters records.

ANGELA KIDD, 40, Chanhassen
- - Excelled at 70.3.

CHRISTEL KIPPENHAN, 52, Bemidji - two-time MOY nominee
- - Christel finished her season with an overall women's win / masters' record at Superior Man 70.3.

JOELLEN KOHLMAN-PETRICK, 40, Fergus Falls
- - Four starts, four podiums, including a win at Average Joe.

CATHERINE LEE, 42, Minneapolis -
- - 2nd at New Bri and 4th at Hopkins Royal were highlights of Lee's season.

ANDREA MYERS. 41, Plymouth - 2016 MOY nominee
- - Myers won two race in 2017.

- - Jody's scorecard features 2nds at Buffalo Sprint and Timberman Sprint, plus a 4th at Chisago Sprint

- - Resume boasts 2nds at Liberty Olympic and Square Lake,plus at MR at Superior Man Half IM.

- - Enjoyed her best season yet in 2017. Six AG wins in six starts, including an outright win (again!) at Chaine of Lakes.

CHERYL ZITUR, 52, Corcoran - three-time Minnesota MOY
- - Her highlight was a win--her 4th--at Maple Grove Sprint
The official nominees in the category will be announced on MTN later this week. The MMAs will be presented on November 4 at Gear West Bike and Triathlon in Long Lake.
