BREWHOUSE STUFF - After last year's race, we recommended that race management consider moving their event from Saturday to Sunday. We did this because we thought the event would attract more participants from The Cities and central and southern and Minnesota....
Others made the same recommendation, and the BH committee decided to move from Saturday, August 6, to Sunday, August 7.
Brewhouse has always been an awesome event, and it became even awesomer when it moved its venue from Pike Lake to Island Lake a few years back. Those who haven't experienced the new Brewhouse don't know what they are missing.
So, MTN encourages athletes to make their hotel arrangements ASAP. Duluth is a wonderful summer destination and hotels sell out quickly.
We'd love to see the BH have a record turnout. If that happens, we're sure that many will discover that Brewhouse is a special experience, one that is worthy of their annual attendance. BH WEBSITE
FASTER AFTER 40 - Some assume that their opportunities for winning races stops after they turn 40. This is untrue. In fact, many athletes don't start winning intil after they achieved masterhood.
A perfect example of this is Cheryl Zitur, who won her first race at the age of 49. Now 51, she has nine victories on her resume.
Here are some other Minnesota multisporters whose winning ways began in their fifth decade of life:
