Rossing Rocks in the Land of Old Cars...

jess-medal.gif- JESSICA PATEAR EL CULO - MTN congratulates Jess Rossing on her fourth place / 1st US finish last weekend at the Habana CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon in Havana, Cuba, aka the Land of Hemingway and really, really old cars.. The delightful Duluthian was the Open Female champion at this event in 2015, but her time was almost three minutes faster this year and the women's field was more than twice as large as a year ago.

We've encouraged Jess to blog about her experience. When she does, we will happily repost. RESULTS

FYI, while raiding her FB page in search of photos to filch, we discovered that Jess might be in love with a guy that has a Man Bun. We hope she is, because love is a good thing.

- DEAR MICHELLE ANDRES - Please race more often in 2016, okay? We miss you. It's weird when you show up for one race during the season and WIN it in dominating fashion and receive the Performance of the Year award, but do not get a spot on Team Minnesota. So you know, to be ...

eligible for award nominations in all MMA categories except POY, an athlete needs a minimum of three outstanding performances during the season in question.

Your Friends,

The MTN Guys.

- 2015 ATHLETES OF THE YEAR - Next week USAT will post their AOYs and HMs. MTN will link to those posts and add commentary. Yes, there will be some familiar names to talk about.

 - HEIDI and JULIE - Two of our state's most accomplished masters athletes, Julie Hull and Heidi Keller-Miler, were conspicuously absent during the 2015 season. We missed them to pieces. Let's hope they return to their former awesomeness in '16. HKM, 51, is a three-time Minnesota Master of the Year and has won eleven races since returning to the multisport lifestyle in 2005. Former Most Improved winner, Jules, has won thirteen races since 2007.
