Rotator Cuff Tendinitis (or potentially Tear) – inflammation due to microscopic muscles tears & stress
- Workouts that are either too much or too hard, an imbalance in shoulder muscles, or poor stroke form
- Signs & Symptoms
- Pain may radiate down arm
- Difficulty extending arm @ 90-degree angle
- Arm weakness with lifting
- Night pain
- Treatment – unless your case is minor (PRICE), seek professional treatment as the healing process for this injury is slow due to the poor blood supply in the area

SI Dysfunction (Lower Back Pain) – unlike other points surrounded by muscle, the SI relies predominantly on ligaments for support
- Signs & Symptoms
- Dull ache through lower back area just above the hip
- May become sharp if training continues
- Pain may radiate to other areas of back & hip
- Treatment/prevention – about 1/3 of lower back injuries can be attributed to structural imbalances, which respond to simple mobilization, stretching & focused strengthening
