This Year's Slam Dunks...

MINNESOTA MULTISPORT AWARDS - This week we are sharing some of the rationale the MMA Committee used to determine this year's winners. We're going to start with the slam dunkiest of the "Slam Dunks," the award winners that few, if any, would disagree with.

TRIATHLETES OF THE YEAR -

It should have come as no surprise that MATT PAYNE and SUZIE FOX (photo L) were the 2015 TOYs. Matt and Kevin O'Connor won eight...

races apiece this year,making them our state's winningest men. What gave Matt the edge over KO was the fact that, in their seven meetings last season, Matt came out on top six times. Matt is once again being considered for USAT AOY Honorable Mention.

As for Suzie, she won 11 races, tying her for 2nd on the all-time Minnesota women's win list. The women who placed 2nd through 5th on Team Minnesota had a combined total of 12 wins. She excelled in sprint, Olympic and IM races and set at least two CRs.
