Grand Master of the Year - This was the easiest category, a slam-dunk, if you will. Three of the four nominees proudly upheld existing standards for athletes of a certain age range. One, however, mercilessly blew away the existing standards for women over-age-60....

Here name is Pam Stevens and she raced at a world class level in 2013. For her efforts, she will not only win our state's GMOY award, but will also be considered for USAT's Grand Master Duathlete title. (We're picking her to win this prestigious award.)

What did Pam, 60, do this year? In six Minnesota races, she set divisonal course records each time, lowering all of them by more than ten minutes. Add to this her silver medal (1st US) at the Ottawa Duathlon World Championships and you have an unbeatable resume.
