Race of the Year Frontrunners...

Voting of 2013 Triathletes Choice Race of the Year has concluded and one of these five races will take home the custom-made TCROY banner on November 9 at Tri Night '13 (alpha order): BREWHOUSE TRIATHLON, LIFE TIME TRI - MAPLE GROVE, SUPERIOR MAN, LIFE TIME TRI - TRINONA and the YWCA WOMEN'S TRIATHLON.....

This group of great events includes the 2012 winner (YWCA Women's Tri) and a two-time winner (Trinona - 2011 and 2010). The other candidates were heretofore un-nominated events, two of which were staged in the Duluth area, which we think is truly cool. If one of those races--Brewhouse or Superior Man--wins the banner, it will be the first time a north country event has taken home the prize since Timberman did so back in 2001.

We also think it's cool that two of the Life Time Tri - Minnesota Series races--Maple Grove and Trinona--are among the finalists.

A total of 43 Minnesota events received votes. Also receiving votes, though they don't apply, were Ironman Wisconsin, Ironman Texas and a race in Cleveland, Ohio.

MTN encourages representatives from the finalists to contact us ASAP (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). We need to make sure that all these events are represented at Tri Night. So, Rod, Lindsey, Clint, Dave and Nicole, get in touch with us ASAP, okay?

We also wish to congratulate those events that finished in the 6th through 10th spots in the voting. In alpha order, they are: BUFFALO, CROIXATHLON, GRANITEMAN - BIG LAKE, LAKE WACONIA and TRI FOR A CAUSE.
