DAN & DAVE NEWS - Two-time Minnesota Triathlete of the Year and 2012 runner-up for US AOY, Dan Hedgecock, will make his pro debut at the 30th annual St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida next Sunday. He won St. A's
ultrasound image in a few weeks. Her and her husband are giddy with excitement and do not want to know the sex of their child until he or she de-uteruses (we made up that word). What this means is that the pic she sends us will definitely not show the baby's junk. Elaine, we are soooooo happy for you and wish you the happiest possible gestation period. FYI, despite her pregnantosity, Elaine does plan to get in a few tris this season. She doesn't expect to win those races, though we wouldn't be surprised if she did.
CY ROCKS - Congrats to 2000-2010 Minnesota Athlete of the Decade Cathy Yndestad on her 4th place / 2nd amateur finish at the Leadman Epic 125 in Tempe, Arizona on April 14. CY has rocked socks in a total of three Leadman events since March of 2011, one of which she won. She finished 2nd in the other. If you've never done a Leadman Tri, they are totally cool and MTN recommends them as highly as we recommend Surly ales. LEADMAN 125 RESULTS
MEGA-KUDOS - MTN congratulates St. Paul resident Gwen Jorgensen (* photo R), on her stunning victory at San Diego World Triathlon last Friday. The 2012 Olympian posted a four-second win over 2012 23U World Champion, Non Stafford of Wales, and 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, Emma Moffatt of Australia.

PR 4 MATT - Columbia Height's Matt Payne kicked off his 2013 multisport season with a sterling effort at New Orleans 70.3 last Sunday. He was the 2nd amateur to cross the finish line. The first guy was Rodrigo Acevedo of Bogota, Columbia. Matt's time was 4:05:52, lowering his half IM PR set at Soma in 2011 by 1:35. He won his 35-39 AG by a hefty margin of 6:55.
