Dan Hedgecock, runner-up for USAT Triathlete of the Year, was named US Elite Duathlete of the Year, and Patrick Parish won the amateur DOY title. Both guys won hands-down. Also in the mix were Ruth Brennan Morrey, who followed up her AOY HM with a DOY HM, and Matthew Payne, who also was named DOY HM. COMMENT: RBM was clearly America's best amateur duathlete in 2012. In fact, she is probably faster than ALL of the US pro women, too. Still, she didn't race at Nationals and/or Worlds. Kattouf, who has won this award in the past, was victorious at Nationals. We also believed that Suzie Fox richly deserved an HM. Once again, the Selectors are reluctant to honor those who don't race at Nationals or Worlds. Men
