Master of the Year: Guys...

greg(Minnefota Moments Photo - 2011 US Master of the Year Honorable Mention, Greg Taylor.)

Minnesota Multisport Awards -Three of the four of this year's official male MOY nominees have won this award before. The other guy--David Holden--was also nominated in 2011. The finalists had to beat out the stalwarts likes of fellow elite 40-plussers Tony Schiller, Rhett Bonner, Rod Raymond, Chap Achen and John Shelp.

BRIAN BICH, 46, Duluth

A four-time MOY winner, Brian won the three regional races he entered in 2012. He also won the 45-49 AG at Nationals, where he would have placed 3rd in the 40-44M category.

DAVID HOLDEN, 43, North Hudson, WI

Winner of four races, David was never beaten by a fellow master this year, nor did he ever finish any lower that 5th overall (Life Time Tri - Minneapolis Elite)....

KEVIN O'CONNOR, 41, Medinakevin (YndeCam photo R)

Like Holden, O'Connor never lost to a fellow master in 2012, nor did he ever finish out of the Top 5 in regional action. Kevin won the MOY last year.

GREG TAYLOR, 58, Yankton, SD

With half IM AG wins at Kansas 70.3, Pigman, where he he finished 5th overall in 4:33!, and most significantly, the 70.3 World Championships, the 2010 MN MOY will probably earn a US MOY HM, just as he did in 2011. His short course results--5th at Timberman, 4th at North Mankato--were danged impressive, too.
