A COOL EMAIL - A few days ago we received with sweet email from Ann Paulson:
Dear Minnesota Tri News:
I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know of a further accomplishment of one of the Rookie Triathlete of the Year nominees. Andrew Gislason, in addition to breaking into the tri scene this year, also organized and participated in Gunnar's Ride, a city-wide family bike ride event in Owatonna to raise awareness for Down's Syndrome. Andrew and his wife Amanda are parents of three year old Gunnar (photo L), who has Down's Syndrome. Andrew must squeeze triathlon training in between his job as a pilot for a small company and parenting a special needs child.
(Local Coverage for Gunnar's Ride:
Thanks for the opportunity to share his accomplishments and community involvement with you.
Ann Paulson, Owatonna
LAST CHANCE - History has proven that the race directors who encourage their events' participants to vote for TRIATHLETES CHOICE RACE OF THE YEAR have a better chance of winning the award, which is a beautiful and totally humongous banner that can be displayed at their race(s). Since voting concludes at midnight on Tuesday (Oct. 23), directors have just enough time to make one last push for support. And athletes, don't wait to hear from race directors. If you haven't already voted, use the link provided HERE to do so.
Also, will we see you at the Minnesota Multisport Awards Party, where there's a whole lot of party, and a little bit of an award ceremony, on November 10? We hope so. Tickets are only $15 for this all-you-can-eat-and-drink event. For info and registration, link HERE.
