2012 Minnesota Multisport Awards - Using USAT's prescribed age ranges, to be eligible for a nomination for Minnesota Grand Master of the Year, men must be at least 60, and women, at least 55. A coed category, prospective candidates must have turned in at least three performances that match, exceed or approximate the elite standards set by past award winners, the majority of whom compete at a world or national class level. of men in their 60s will be compared against the standards set by Ben Ewers. Women 55-59 must measure up to the likes of Pam Stevens. Men over 70, will be compared with Hank Larsen. These three athletes have set an extremely high bar. (Pammie, aka The Pamster, had her back surgerized this summer and did not race, thus she is not eligible for award consideration.)
