New Mountains...

MICHELLE-and-mom.gifThe journey continues...

By Michelle Andres (teamandresjourney.blogspot.com)

My blog has been updated to show the next journey I'm on.  The address even had to change since Team Andres arrived and conquered Kona.  An experience I will never forget.  I will always remember the friends and family that helped me on this journey.  But now...an new mountain to climb...The Marathon Olympic Trials for 2016.

These last two months I have been relaxing and letting my body heal cause my next goal is even more Epic than the last...in terms of where I need to take my body and what I need to train it to be able to do.  Qualifying for the marathon Olympic trails for the 2016 games.  This means I need to run at least a 2:43 marathon to meet the "B" standard set by USA Track and Field or the "A" standard which is a 2:39 marathon...

Busting Myths...

bikegraph.gifBike Weight and the Myth of Fast Bikes

By Jim Gourley

In my new book FASTER, I reveal the science underlying our beloved swim, bike, run sports and show how triathletes can find free speed with a little know-how. I also debunk myths and misunderstandings about gear that can save you thousands of dollars so you can spend your hard-earned cash on those gear and technique upgrades that actually make you faster.

Here, I’ll bust the myth of weight savings and reveal the truth about so-called “fast” bikes. To keep it quick, I’ll skip over some of the details that make FASTER a really interesting book.

First, let’s clear something up. There is no such thing as a “fast bike.” Bikes are neither fast nor slow. Bikes are shiny or expensive. Bikes...

Libido & Endurance Training...

It builds your self esteem and your attitude during the day. However, when you are with your partner/husband/wife/boyfriend or girlfriend, you are not in the mood for anything. Especially when you are done riding the bike....

Haters Gonna Hate...

gopher-jerseys.gifCoach Reveal and Haters Gonna Hate

By Devon Palmer (Posted on December 2, 2013 by palmertri)

Going against my better judgement I have hired a new coach from Wisconsin. Yes, I know. If you follow this blog you will know I am deeply and offensively prejudiced against the simple, heavyset folk of the Badger State. No disrespect. As a proud Gopher I have a long-standing feud with Tom Gerlach and Blake Becker, the Badger pros. Our Ironwar will be talked about through the ages. Side note, one further reflection of how lousy my season was: I lost to both Tom and Blake at different races in 2013. Previously my record against them was undefeated. I have no beef with Madison’s lady pro, Jackie Arendt, who just won Ironman Wisconsin. She is a winner and we both ride QRs so I respect her. Anyways, I found one guy in the state whose opinion I value and who seems to be a half-way decent person....

devon-and-dog.gifNews: New Head Coach ...

By Devon Palmer (Posted on November 26, 2013 by palmertri)

NEW HEAD COACH

I am and always will be the CEO of Palmer Tri, LLC but I am excited to announce I’ve hired a new HCO (Head Coaching Officer). The previous HCO was fired at the beginning of August for gross negligence, unforgivable incompetence and a severe scruple deficiency (that is to say, he was unscrupulous). Before and after this individual I myself served as HCO. With all my other duties for the company...
