Heavy Rains/Foot Balance/Doubling Down in Wisconsin

This weekend was chock full of action. I know that some people aren't big into reading anything longer than bullet points. (I learned that while working corporate) So there is an executive summary for anyone who doesn't want to get into the details. Yes, a video recap would be more engaging, but the technology isn't quite there yet. Someday.

The Executive Summary:

* There was a monsoon Saturday morning, parts of the bike route flooded.

* Sara McLarty and I rode into each other but neither of us crashed.

* I smashed up my left foot and balanced out my foot injuries for the season.

* My dad was in town for the day and we had lunch after the race (Photo L - Dan & Dad)....

More Previewettes of Weekend Triathlons...

buzzlogoBuzz Ryan Sprint II - The 2nd edition of this event will be staged at Island Lake north of Duluth tomorrow. It will be held simultaneously with the Duluth Triathlon, a groovy 70.3 experience, which is also celebrating its second anniversary. The events were contested on separate dates in 2012.

Because the Buzzy Sprint and the Duluth Half are produced by the same folks that have given you the iconic Brewhouse Tri for the last gazillion years, you can be assured that the events will be totally good....

Good Vibe...

logoHOLT Preview - Minnesota triathletes are "Come Early, Stay Late-ers." Historically, they seem to spend more time chatting and laughing in the transition area before an event than they will spend on the race course. Then they hang-out for a similar amount of time afterwards. It's a totally cool deal.

This phenomenon is especially apparent at the Heart of the Lakes Triathlon, where the "Come Early, Stay Late-ers" come even earlier and stay even later. Yes, indeed, there is something special about this event that bills itself,...

Saturday Previewettes...

kyleChaska - The Chaska River City Days Triathlon is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Sunday. And you're invited. This event features small town charm and a picturesque and challenging bike route. We wholeheartedly recommend this event. Good news. You can still get in. WEBSITE

Favored to win, as he did in 2012, is Kyle Serreyn, who is on the comeback trail, and according to him that road doesn't start in Munchkin Land. It starts in Chaska on Saturday. Check out his latest Blog post - LINK.

Also, we're picking Tracy Serreyn, Kyle's mom who won here in 2011, to join her son in the Winner's Circle. How cool would that be? (Actually, Tracy may choose to spectate. ALSO: We just learned that Brooke (Larsen) Plotz, two-time winner of the Tri Minnesota Series, has just enrolled, making her the current women's favorite. A win would be the 8th of her young career.)

Tri For a Cure - The 3rd edition of this big-hearted event will be Saturday at Serpent Lake in Crosby. Scenic courses, plentiful food and amenities and that cool Team thing they got going make this race special. Hey, you don't need to be a part of a team to participate. We encourage you to...

Location, Location, Location...

mugGraniteman Coverage - The original Graniteman Triathlon was staged in the town of Rockville south of St. Cloud. It had a five-year history at that venue before relocating to its present site near Clearwater.
