Minnesotans Set to Rock in Pigland...

kris_tilt.pnglogo_pig.pngPIGMAN PREVIEW - For several reasons, Minnesota athletes continue to support the Pigman, Iowa's premier sprint triathlon. First, of course, is because it has been an awesome event for a quarter of a century.

Another, it was founded by John Snitko, arguably the best race timer in the business, who for decades has elevated many of our state's best races--Heart of the Lakes, Timberman, Apple etc.--with his state-of-the-art services.

Minnesota athletes have always excelled at Pigman, and several of them are returning for Sunday's race. Women's course-record holder HEATHER LENDWAY hopes to lower the amazing course record she set in 2014, and take home the Equalizer bonus in the process....

KEVIN O'CONNOR, now 45, has more amateur wins at Pigman than anyone. We predict that he'll win the masters title on Sunday, and place 3rd among the elite amateurs. We think that tranplanted Iowan KRIS SPOTH and Missouri's KEVIN DENNY will battle over the Top 2 amateur spots.

Next, we predict that Lino Lakes' DIANE HANKEE, 40, will not only win the masters award, she will also claim 1st among amateur women. We're picking former Rochesterarian JOANNA HALL, who we dearly miss, to be the amateur women's silver medalist.
